Being Blower Book List

The Book Thief - Fiction

I really love this story. I can relate to the solace books provide and this story set against the development of WWII keeps you locked in the entire read.

The Caretakers - Fiction

I really tried to get into this one but couldn’t power through. I simultaneously was reading another book I really enjoyed so mucking through something was a bit too much effort at the time. It’s a coming of age story about au pairs in Paris, great to feel like you’re in Paris if you’re ok with petty characters and a whiny protagonist. I would swap for The Paris Apartment.

Daisy Darker - Fiction

Daisy Darker was such a fun fiction thriller, midway through the book I started feeling my interest wane but once Alice hits you with the twist, you immediately dive right back in.

A Clear and Simple Prayer - Devotional

This book has become such a wonderful daily resource for me. I often open it up when I need a message for peace.

Wrong place, wrong time - Fiction

A bit of a slower burn out the gate but I’m really glad I stuck with it. Part crime thriller, and part self judgmental mom origin story with a mad scientist professor twist. Very fun weekend read!

I recently learned about Gabor Mate’s work when he joined Rich Roll on his podcast to promote The Myth of Normal. I truly love this book, it’s a deep dive in to the mind body connection and how it impacts health across all measures of wellbeing. It’s such an interesting perspective on trauma and the structures in our society that aren’t always designed for the human being to thrive. Very readable especially for dense medical information sections.

Every summer After - Fiction

Every Summer After is a perfect beach or balcony read that you will be able to predict the whole way through but you’ll also enjoy seeing a lifelong romance bloom!

Choose FI - Non Fiction

I love this book. I had it on my list to purchase for 6 months at least, waiting to feel brave enough to assess my financial situation. I love making money, I love spending money, but I am often nervous in my relationship with money. I am spending quite a bit of my current focus on deep diving into my relationship with money and pushing myself to evolve and really enjoyed how digestible this is (for a personal finance book).

Meant to Be - Fiction

I thought this book was so sweet, and while the story is buttoned up pretty perfectly, I still so enjoyed reading it. Emily Giffin books remind me of my glory days as a camp counselor in college and they’re such a comfort read for me.

Breath - Non Fiction

Breath is a life changing book for movement participants, practitioners or anyone who wants to understand their body better. Should be required reading for all humans.

Things We Do in the Dark - Fiction

Things We Do in the Dark was a great thriller which I loved because it was a complex story shared from multiple view points. I love a book that each chapter swaps the point of view you’re assembling the story. Eventually, the final twist feels a little predictable but still really enjoyed this easy, entertaining read!

The Chaos Machine - Non Fiction

I discovered this book on an episode of Rich Roll’s podcast featuring the author, Max Fisher. I found it so interesting with my educational background in psychology to understand how the algorithms behind the social media platforms we know reinforces continuing radicalization and extremism globally. Highly recommend for anyone eager to evaluate how we engage with one another online.

Nowhere for Very Long - Memoir

I loved this book from creator Briana Madia. If you’re like me and your dog is your family, she explores some incredibly painful and formative experiences in her book. I read it in one sitting and could not agree with her more; We never leave the dogs behind.

Intuitive Eating - Non Fiction

I had the privilege of joining my dear friend and registered dietician - Emmy in her initial intuitive eating workshop and the concepts in this book are truly life changing. If you ever want to examine and improve your relationship with food, I can not recommend this resource enough.

A Return to Love - Devotional

I ordered this book as a complement to A Course in Miracles. I initially opened ACIM and was immediately overwhelmed and I wasn’t sure how to consume the text until I listened to this episode of Almost30. That said, I will definitely sink my teeth into ACIM - but A Return to Love has been incredibly digestible and I really look forward to reading it.
